Sharing Your Videos On ASBN

Creating a video today has become so simple, anyone with a cell phone can be a film producer and with sites like YouTube, Vimeo, and now ASBN, publishing your videos for the world to see is just a click away.

But, what if your videos need to be seen by others specifically related to the Automotive Service Industry?

That's why ASBN's Video Library was created.

We've put together a video collection from a wide range of sources that focus on our needs within this industry so we can do a better job at what we like doing; serving the needs of our customers as professionals. 

As a private network, we are selective in what populates our library. Plus, it can only be accessed by our registered users, clearing the way for more precise content and eliminating the 'debris'. 

Isn't that what a reference library should be?  

As an ASBN member, you can upload your own or add interesting ones you found from other public sites. Plus, you have your own file system to manage your uploads.  This way, everyone gets to share their discoveries, the library grows and you can start cleaning out your closet of saved favorites and bookmarks.

The future is looking great.   

But, we didn't just add a video player to the site. We've opened the door for techs and businesses wanting to help other techs and businesses through Video Sharing.

So, we created a feature-rich system that is just as easy to use as it was to create the video.

User Features;

• A beautiful HTML5 & Flash-based Responsive Video Player
• You select the category(s) your video is best suited (let us know if we need more categories)
• Can upload MP4, M4V, FLV, MOV, WEBM, and OGG file formats
• Can upload YouTube URLs
• RTMP Streaming and the ability to add HLS stream as the mobile fallback
• Can edit/delete your own videos (your ASBN account maintains your list of contributions)
• Comment videos
• Rate videos

These features are just waiting for you to take advantage of so we can continue to build the library that will benefit every corner of our industry.

Instructions

Check these steps to upload YOUR OWN VIDEO

1. Login to your ASBN account
2. In the main menu, go to the video section (The Libraries / Video Library/Add Your Video) or select Video Library from the 'Popular Links' menu
3. Select Submit A Video (this will be your control page of contributions)
4. Select Add New Video
5. Enter your Title for the Video
6. Select the Category or Sub Category you want the video to be filed in
7. Select the Source Type as General Type
   
8. Enter the File Name from your computer to upload and click Upload
9. Enter an image file to upload and click Upload
10. Complete the remaining fields (optional)
11. Click Save at the bottom of the page
12. Congrats, You have successfully uploaded and submitted your Video. Your video will now be reviewed by administrators and posted once approved.
13. Click on 'My Videos' tab of the menu. Here is where you manage your videos (editing, publishing, and unpublishing) and see what videos have been approved or are still pending.

Check the steps below to add a YOUTUBE VIDEO.

1. Login to your ASBN account
2. In the main menu, cursor down to the video section (e.g. The Libraries / Video Library/Add Your Video) or select Video Library from the 'Popular Links' menu
3. Select Submit A Video (this will be your control page of contributions)
   
4. Select Add New Video
5. Enter your Title for the Video
6. Select the Category or Sub Category
   
7. Select the Video Type as Youtube
8. Enter your Youtube Video Page URL in the Video field (or copy/paste the address from the YouTube page)
9. Complete the remaining fields.(optional)
10. Click Save at the bottom of the page
11. Congrats, You have successfully submitted a YouTube Video. Your video will now be reviewed by administrators and posted once approved.
13. Click on 'My Videos' tab of the menu. Here is where you manage your videos (editing, publishing, and unpublishing) and see what videos have been approved or are still pending.

Want it even Simpler?

You found a link to a public video that would be a great addition to the library but you don't have time or just don't want to go through the process.

No problem.

1. Just highlight and copy the address of the video in the address bar of your browser (cntl/C or mouse right-click/copy)
2. Open the ASBN site and log in
3. On the Main Menu go to The Libraries and click on Video Library or click here 
4. On the right side of the page, click on the blue button that says 'Submit Your Video' and paste (cntl/V or mouse right click/paste) the address into the line 'Your Message'  Note; If you are reading this page, it's on the right.
5. Enter your name and return email address 
6. Click Send

We will personally review it, make sure it is posted correctly and send you the results.

You can't get any simpler than that.
