Having certification as a mandatory requirement to work in this industry may appear to be a tough sell, but I think most businesses as well as our customers would agree that it's the right thing we can do. Most businesses already look for Red Seal applicants as a requirement to fill their ranks and our customers already assume we are professionals. So it's not a big step to make this a standard across the board.
But, there are issues to make this a reality.
What we need to do is openly discuss these problems and maybe come up with some solutions.
Right now, our Government is open to hearing what we have to say.
